Ironically, we could look down and see the NY Stock Exchange, where that day the Dow Jones fell a record amount only to be exceeded by the all time fall three days later. ![]() There was no line on this Monday in March, perhaps due to the month and the coronavirus scare. We bought the basic, non-priority ticket (higher price gets you priority in the line), and did just fine. We got one, and thought it worth the investment. There is an opportunity to rent for $15 an iPad that is programmed to point out and describe many of the sights you see. You walk around and look out gigantic windows in every direction. The Observatory is completely inside - you're not standing out in wind or the elements. It's awesome, looking in all directions at tall buildings, bridges, waterways, the Statue of Liberty, airplanes landing below your level. One at the observatory you can spend however much time you like. The elevator ride is incredibly fast, and on the way up the elevator's walls are a video screen showing the changing panorama of NYC, from prehistoric times to the present. An unforgettable experience, and one you'll recall every time to return to NYC.
